About Jeremi Howell, LCSW — Men's Therapist in Missouri

Hi. I’m Jeremi.

I'm a licensed clinical social worker, and I work with men across Missouri who are exhausted, burned out, and carrying way more than they're letting on.

You're probably not someone who talks about this stuff easily. Maybe you've never talked about it at all. Totally fine — actually, I already kinda like that about you.

I'm not here to make you sit in a circle and share your feelings. I'm here to help you figure out what's actually going on, why it keeps happening, and what to do about it. We'll get into the hard stuff, but we'll do it in a way that doesn't feel like a therapy cliché.

You will laugh. You will probably cuss. Maybe even at me. You might cry — and if you do, I promise I won't make it weird. And you will heal. That part I'm confident about.

Who I Work With

I work with men who are functioning on the outside but running on freaking fuels on the inside.

You might be dealing with:

  • Burnout that's been building for years and finally catching up with you

  • Anger that feels bigger than the situation — and you're not sure why

  • A major life change (divorce, career shift, loss, sobriety) that's left you feeling unsteady

  • A relationship that's suffering because you've checked out, shut down, or exploded one too many times

  • The general sense that you should feel fine — but you don't

You don't have to have the right words for it. You don't have to be in crisis. You just have to be ready to stop pretending everything's fine and actually do something about it.

Really — aren’t we all in recovery from something?

My Background

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Missouri

  • 20+ years working with adults in transition and emotional growth (ya know, the messy stuff)

  • Training in CBT, ACT, DBT, addiction/recovery, grief, trauma, ADHD

  • Specialized experience in addiction and recovery, grief, life transitions, and men's mental health

  • Continuing education because the field keeps evolving and I'm not interested in being stale

I've spent two decades sitting with people in some of the hardest seasons of their lives. Addiction. Grief. Relationships falling apart. Identities shifting. I've heard things people have never said out loud before. I don't rattle easily, and I don't judge.

I also bring something to this work that's a little harder to put on a resume — lived experience with what recovery actually looks like. I know what it's like to do the real work, not just study it.

How I Actually Work

I'm direct. I'm warm. And I will absolutely call you on your stuff — with kindness, but I'll call it.

I'm not going to sit quietly and just reflect things back at you for an hour. That drives me crazy too. We’re going to laugh, we’re going to cuss. We're going to actually work.

That means:

  • Figuring out the patterns that keep showing up — in your relationships, your reactions, your choices

  • Understanding where they came from, not to dwell on the past, but because it matters

  • Building real tools you can actually use, not worksheets you'll lose in your car

  • Practicing a different way of being — with yourself and with the people in your life

What Makes This Different

A lot of men tell me therapy wasn't what they expected — usually because it was too passive, too soft, or felt like they were just venting into a void.

Not here!

  • I'm collaborative. We build this together based on what you actually need.

  • I don't do one-size-fits-all. Your life is specific, and your therapy should be too.

  • I work virtually, which means no commute, no waiting room, no excuses.

  • I'm not going to make you feel like a patient. You're going to feel like a person.

You don't have to prove that things are bad enough to deserve support. If something feels off, that's enough to start.

Meet Claude and Clyde

You will get to know these two in our time together. Claude (top step) prides himself on keeping his mom safe from blowing leaves and Amazon drivers. Clyde snores… loudly sometimes. Both may make a guest appearance from time to time.

Claude’s Favorite Things: bacon, silk pillowcases, being ornery

Clyde’s Favorite Things: bananas, sweaters, sleeping during session

Ready to Stop Carrying It Alone?

You don't have to keep second-guessing yourself or carrying this shit on your own.

There is a way to feel more steady, more clear, and more like you again.

Let's start with a conversation — no pressure, no commitment, just a real talk about where you're at and whether this is a good fit.
